Caring for Your Yoga Mat

Regularly cleaning will help extend the life of your cork yoga mat and keep it's grip in tact. We recommend using our natural yoga mat cleaner formulated for cork surfaces after every use. Cork is porous and the buildup of natural oils in our skin, lotions, and dirt can cause it's grip to lessen over time if not properly cared for. Of course, regular cleaning will help to prevent this, but sometimes a deeper clean is helpful.

For deep cleaning to remove any built-up residue or smells, we recommend using a hydrogen peroxide spray (3-7%). Heavily spray your mat so there is a layer of the solution covering the cork surface. If your mat is dirty, you will likely see some bubbles forming on the heavily soiled areas, this is the solution doing it's job! Let it sit for about 10 minutes, then wipe off with a wet cloth towel. You may repeat this again if necessary.
